Professor Dong Joon, MIn Earned B.S. / M.S. and a Ph.D in Metallurgical Engineering from Yonsei University and University of Tokyo, respectively.

Then, Working as a professor of Materials Science & Engineering at Yonsei University, he also served as Dean of the College of Engineering and as the Vice President of Administration and External Affairs. He Has Published a total of 231 SCI papers as well as 340 conference papers. Earning the Honorary Membership of ISIJ, he received the National Brass-Tower Industry prize From Korea Steel Society, the Adrian Normanton Award from IOM3 and Nishiyama Commemorative Prize from ISIJ, POSCO Prize from KIM.

At present, he is serving as the Professor Emeritus of Materials Science & Engineering, and Posco Chair- Professor for POSCO at Yonsei University.
